Operated by Westchester Jewish Community Services, Making Miracles is a baseball league for children with autism, ages 4 to 21. Through a spring and fall six-week league, in excess of 50 young people play baseball on a specially developed, rubberized and enclosed field. Each player is assigned a one-on-one buddy, usually a teenager seeking community services hours, to work with the children, teach skills, and ensure safety. Through this program, children have the opportunity to improve social skills and participate in a normalizing experience that they and their family members can enjoy.
