The Possibility Project brings together diverse casts of teenagers and uses the performing arts to empower them to transform the negative forces in their lives and communities into positive action. Through our programs, young people learn to build relationships across differences, resolve the most serious conflicts they face, engage in positive communication, and develop real-world leadership skills. To achieve this impact, each cast works together to write and perform a full-length, original musical theater production about their lives and their ideas for change and to plan and execute Community Action Projects that raise awareness about the issues most important to them. Since 2001, more than 1,300 youth have completed our programs, and these young people have produced and performed 36 original musicals and more than 85 Community Action Projects that have reached an audience of more than 60,000 people.
